Tree Planting

The benefits of trees are well known. Planting trees helps regulate temperatures and provides shelter for wildlife. Did you know that one tree has the cooling effect of 10 air conditioners? Trees also filter the air we breathe and capture carbon to mitigate climate change. Other benefits include stabilizing soil to prevent erosion, and reducing stormwater runoff and flooding. Being surrounded by trees can reduce stress, improving our physical and mental health. Studies show that in areas with more trees, asthma rates in young children decrease.

Tree seedling orders will be available for pick up on Thursday April 23 and Friday April 24, 2026 at Otonabee Conservation, 250 Milroy Drive, Peterborough.

To avoid congestion in our small parking area we ask that you follow the schedule below to pick up your trees based on the first initial of your last name:

Last Names A-J can pick up on Thursday April 23, 2026 from 8:30am – 12:00pm

Last Names K-Z can pick up on Thursday April 23, 2026 from 12:00pm – 5:00pm

Last Names K-Z can pick up on Friday April 24, 2026 from 8:30am – 12:00pm

Last Names A-J can pick up on Friday April 24, 2026 from 12:00pm – 5:00pm

Please let us know as soon as possible if you are unable to pick up your order during these times and we will do our best to make alternative arrangements.

When you enter the parking lot at 250 Milroy Drive, Peterborough, please park on the LEFT side and our staff will assist you with your order.

A reminder that the potted plants and bare root tree seedlings are quite small and will be shipped in bags, pots or boxes that will easily fit into most vehicles.
